One is this fun crocheted ripple blanket that I am making for a crochet-along with the wonderful and talented Cheryl Cambras. She crochets things like life sized unicorns. Right up my alley.
My color inspiration comes from this Modcloth dress, which I really really wanted, but mustered up enough self control not to buy:
If only I had a dollar for every time I started a blanket. I would have a lot of dollars.
But I WILL finish this one. I WILL.
I've also been busy quilting my rainbowlicious fabric project. Both of these projects look very similar in these pictures, which was not intentional. Maybe I am just on a slightly-off-primary stripe kick?
I'm loving both your projects! A ripple or chevron afghan is in my future for sure :) But I have to say I'm especially loving the free-form quilting pattern that you are using on your last picture. I need to learn to quilt. :]

ReplyDeleteSo is crocheting a blanket easier than knitting one? I've always wanted to try but have been scared to.
ReplyDeleteyes it's way easier! it goes a lot faster because the stitches are bigger with more space between them [usually]. also there's not really such a thing as 'dropping stitches' because the stitch you're working on is interacting with a lot less yarn than in knitting. so if your hook falls out or you're carrying it around in your bag and a stitch gets ripped out, it's only that stitch that's affected and not a cascading domino effect down into previous rows.
